Tampu tocco, Machu Picchu and the mistery of incas cities

Tampu tocco, Machu Picchu and mysteries of inca cities

Francais | English

The artistic technique of planning the city Machu Picchu is found Tella-in other Incan cities? Two other Inca cities are well known to be in the form of an animal, Pisaq and Sacsayhuaman. The discovery at Machu Picchu and the observation of other cities has also found other sites with the shape of animals or individuals. Examples of Choquequiraw, which was planned to have the shape of a llama, which is consistent with its designation by Patrice Lecoq, a site sacred Incan llamas. An interesting information that we bring these various observations is the importance of the horse's head, an area generally consists of building the city. For example, the fortress of Sacsayhuaman was the head of the puma. We shall see later what it is for other cities. The examples seem to prove that the area in the head of the bird and the crocodile of Machu Picchu are important areas for the city.

Method of Observation

The method to use to find the form given to a city or Inca site is:

  1. Consider the mountainside like a leaf, the bottom of the sheet is the bottom of the mountain, the summit of the mountain is the top of the sheet.
  2. If there is an important area of building, surrounded by a terrace for example, then this zone corresponds to the head or eye drawing. The party considered significant if the representation is not an animal.
  3. A populated area can be composed of different sectors. Each sector may form an abor without that all sectors will form a design.
  4. The eye is often represented in a clear manner. A building accurate and often is important instead of the eye.
  5. The differences in size or style of deck can indicate a line drawing. A 'visual break' visible in the center of a group of terrace often indicates a path within the drawing.
  6. The drawing is always a side view, sometimes from above the animal (snake)
  7. This is an animal, plant or human being (we have not yet seen if applicable)

Observations by satellite photos

The observations were made mainly through satellite pictures and Google Earth ©. Not having had the opportunity to go on the field for all forms studied, certain types of forms could be entirely natural that a later date the Incas. I will try to indicate, each time, if the shape is in my opinion some (little doubt about his identity or membership of a pre-Columbian people) or uncertain (doubtful interpretation, natural creation or post Inca). Every time I would indicate the positions of sites in Google Earth © so you can distinguish them and make your own opinion. Located in the illustrations on this site will tell you the interpretation.
